Log Cabin joy wasn't to last - suddenly all of Oregon's State Campgrounds & Cabins were fully booked - something to do with 'Memorial Day Weekend' when all Americans get a day off work/school to honour fallen warriors of battles fought to preserve freedom and democracy.
Some say prayers and lay flowers on the graves of the brave, but most take a long weekend break, hitch their trailers to their trucks and flock to campgrounds on the coast.
Block-booked out of Campground accommodation, we rely on the budget Motel 6 chain - which is fine - not accommodation snobs - but heaps more pricey than Camping or Cabining!

25th May - Newport - Motel 6 - home of Rogue Nation Brewery - good food & GREAT beer!
26th May - Seaside - (Motel 6 Fully Booked!) - Sandy Cove Inn - lovely place/ lovely Beach Themed room - thanks Damon, Anne & Paul - all was fab, although your Memorial Day Weekend pricing was a little bit cheeky! Enjoyed Seaside Brewery and Clam Chowder from Norma's!!
