Last night in Peru so we splash out on a 4 Star Hotel in Mancora - another lovely Pacific Coast Fishing Village & Surfer Hangout!
Booking.com lets us down again on our first choice - seriously dreary although the website photos looked faberooney! After a spot of beachcombing we find the Grandmare Hotel which is seriously dreamy - and only three other guests! Oceanfront location with decks built out over the sand giving peachy views from the Kingsize Sun Loungers and Terrace Bar!! Pisco Sours all round - and Ceviche for al fresco Dinner!!!
Hey - who said it was our last night in Peru? We love it so much we'll stay for two!
Stroll along the deserted beach watching bright orange Crabs battling for food scraps and squadrons of Pelicans swooping gracefully over the rolling surf! Find ourselves at a bustling Jetty where scores of Fishing Boats queue to unload their catch. Mackerel by the look of the thousands of shiny pescado being winched ashore!
Don't think the Pescadores get many Gringos along their Jetty as all work stops for them to check us out - with big smiles and plenty of "Buenos Tardes".
