It was lashing down with rain and howling winds were blowing through last night so we stayed at Bordelago Cabanas in Puerto Ibanez. This morning the weather has changed for the best and we're getting ready to catch a ferry to Chile Chico, where we will cross our first border - into Argentina. Yesterday we tried to find someone, anyone who could be more specific on the timetabling of the ferry crossings. We were given several different scenarios to go on? Think we're sure now that the ferry leaves at 7 pm tonight and although it's fully booked, we think we're on the 'Waiting List' - but nothing's certain! Anyway there's always the Bordelago Cabanas for another night.
If we don't get on this evening's ferry we'll have to wait until Wednesday. There is a ferry tomorrow but it's for hazardous cargo only! David hasn't showered for a week - does that count??
We've had to ditch all food items as these aren't allowed across the border and we're planning to do a lot of smiling and sweet talking at the crossing as we've heard that the Aduanas are pretty tough especially with foreigners.
