24th-30th August - Vancouver / by David Harrison

Vancouver, our final destination. Departure point for our flight back to London Heathrow. Pablo's departure port for his Sea Container voyage to London Gateway.

Drive the 55 miles from Chilliwack to Coquitlam and meet up with good friends Anna & Andrew who've kindly offered us their Spare Room for our last few days whilst we pack up and ship out. And their super efficient Washing Machine to launder all our bedding and clothes before we cram them back into Pablo's boot.

Drinks and Dogs at Mariner Brewing where we sample their Northeast IPA & Perogy Hotdogs. Yumbles!

Monday we take Pablo for his last Pan-Am drive - just 22 miles to WorldCargo in Marine Drive - to meet up with his travel companion - a Pink 1957 Cadillac - Macho Pablo and Pinky Caddy should have a ball during their 6 weeks at sea together! Before handing over the keys, check the speedo. 25,547 miles driven plus 1,715 more along the Alaska Marine Highway make our journey total 27,263 miles!!

Tuesday sees Pablo & Caddy loaded up into their steel box container home for the next 6 weeks.

We stroll round Gastown and find a local hostelry for dinner and a few drinks. The Alibi Room is a 'Modern Tavern' with 50 Taps and a Very Accessible Menu. Good find, no Tourists, lots of locals, great atmos, tasty beers and of course, very accessible grub!

All of a sudden it's our last night in The Americas and we head out to a British Columbian Legend, White Spot Restaurant for a farewell feast to thank Anna & Andrew for their hospitality.

Thanks too A&A for driving us to YVR for our flight to LHR next day! Cheerio!!
