Needed some luxury after several nights Camping.
Found the Holiday Inn Express at Klamath - last stop on California Hwy 101 before the Oregon State Border. Odd place - actually Yurok Tribal land with a Casino and Holiday Inn Hotel owned and operated by the Yurok Tribe.
Visited the new Yurok Country Visitor Centre & Amphitheater. Closed until further notice. Shame really as it's a lovely building which must have cost many $$$s to build. Fella in a canoe outside offered to take Amanda up river to meet Big Chief Running Water - but his boating skills were a little rusty!
Instead we found ourselves at Klamath Country Club where Missy behind the bar, Ken in the kitchen, Duke Rob and Princess Tarah listened to our travelers' tales in awe and quickly picked up the Good Old English V-sign which they practiced with some aplomb!
Daylight on entry - pitch black on exit - Raspberry Vodkas all round!!
