Just 60km out of San Pedro along an unmarked dirt road are Las Lagunas Escondidas de Baltinache - seven turquoise blue salt water lagoons on a salt plain in the middle of the desert - also known as The Hidden Lagoons. Las Lagunas are managed and run by the local indigenous community of Coyo.
In pools one and seven the adventurous can immerse themselves for an unusual bathing experience - so of course we did! David even skinny-dipped!! Don't fret we had the place to ourselves.
