12th June - Howe Sound Brewing Company / by David Harrison

Left Vancouver on the BC-99 Highway. Scenic route through the mountains to Squamish, home of the Howe Sound Brewing Company.  Brewery also an Inn. What could be better - beer AND beds - of course we stayed - Room 1 - close as poss to the Brewery Door!

Our bedroom window gave us panoramic views of the Stawamus Chief, a huge granite monolith.  Contemplated hiking to the top, but as it was raining we chose the Brewery Tour instead!

Simon the Brewmaster showed us round. Charlie (from Clapham, London) was mid-brew. David's fave - Devil's Elbow IPA. Amanda a fan of Hazy Days IPA. Both brews available in the Tap Room, as was Chicken & Mushroom Pot Pie - that's dinner sorted! Yumbles!!

Next morning it was still raining. After a Full Canadian Breakfast we did a self-guided walking tour of downtown Squamish. Gave Amanda the chance to show off the Bloomingdale's Brolly she'd blagged in San Francisco.
