The Carabineros de Chile are a heavy handed military police force. We got caught up in a peaceful march through Santiago.
'The Pinochet regime will never be forgiven'.
The Carabineros vehicles are menacing here as are the Carabineros themselves, mob handed! The large green trucks are either Guanaco a Llama like animal that spits when threatened = water cannon, or a Zorrillo, like a Skunk, its defense is a noxious gas that has painful results = tear gas wagon or a mobile police station with cells in which to question or to cart people away from the scene, roughly!
