12th December - El Hotel Panorama Sol / by David Harrison

Pasto was OK - needs must!  Next morning we had a shuftie around town - and bought SOAT Seguro for Pablo before heading north - deeper into Colombia.

Chachagui to be precise - just 27km north!

Amanda found a wonderful countryside Hotel on top of a hill in an agricultural area.  Bit sceptical on the way there - but it really was wonderful!

Built by a Swiss family who emigrated to Colombia and bought a farm here in Chachagui (Ed's note: what a great name for a town). Hotel only opened 6 months ago.  Very modern and stylish - especially the Top Floor Penthouse Suite with Rooftop Terrace for which we negotiated a great rate!

Cows in the fields outside - fresh milk & cheese!  Chickens in the back yard - fresh eggs!  Sheep and goats in another field.  Avocados, Oranges, Lemons and Limes growing in a mixed orchard out front!

And a gorgeous Swimming Pool out the back!

We stayed two days!! Could have stayed much longer, but Alaska beckons!!!
